Abstract

The main problem in buffalo farming in this area is the low efficiency in the use of production costs, which does not yet correspond to the high income potential. In addition, the lack of proper farm management, limited market access, and minimal technological support and business guidance have become significant obstacles in optimizing farmers’ income. Therefore, a sustainable development strategy based on farmer empowerment is needed to ensure that buffalo farming can deliver greater economic benefits for the people of Langko Village. This study aims to analyze the income generated from buffalo farming in Langko Village, Lindu District. The method used was a survey with a case study approach involving 33 buffalo farmers. Buffalo farming holds substantial economic potential for rural communities, yet it has not fully contributed to the farmers' welfare. The results of the study indicate that the total annual revenue from buffalo farming reached IDR 1,264,000,000, with total production costs amounting to IDR 54,821,000 per year. Thus, the net income earned by buffalo farmers in Langko Village is IDR 1,209,179,000 per year.
