Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of competence, compensation, and job satisfaction on employee retention at Grand Hero Palu, both simultaneously and partially. The research method used in this study is a quantitative method with an associative approach. The population consisted of all employees of Grand Hero Palu, totaling 177 people, while the research sample consisted of 64 respondents selected using the Slovin formula. The type of data used was primary data obtained through questionnaires distributed to respondents. The data analysis technique used was multiple linear regression analysis with the assistance of IBM SPSS Statistics 24, using a significance level of 0.05 or 5%. The results of the study show that competence, compensation, and job satisfaction simultaneously have a positive and significant effect on employee retention at Grand Hero Palu. Partially, competence has a positive but insignificant effect on employee retention; compensation has a positive and significant effect on employee retention; while job satisfaction has a positive but insignificant effect on employee retention. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.139 indicates that competence, compensation, and job satisfaction are able to explain employee retention by 13.9%, while the remaining 86.1% is explained by other variables outside this study.
