Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of career development system and compensation on employee retention at CV Maju Bersama, Tikke Raya District, Pasangkayu Regency, West Sulawesi. This research uses quantitative methods with data collection techniques in the form of observation and questionnaires. Then the sample in this study amounted to 30 employees who worked at CV Maju Bersama. Sources of data in this study are primary data and secondary data. The results of observations show that the company has not implemented an optimal career development system and the compensation provided is not evenly distributed, which can affect employee retention. The results of this study based on the results of the F test found that both the career development system and compensation have a significant influence on employee retention with a probability value or significance value of 0.028 <0.05. Furthermore, partially (T test) the Career Development System Variable (X1) has a significance value of 0.036 < 0.05 and the Compensation Variable (X2) has a significance value of 0.045 < 0.05, so partially the career development system and compensation have a positive and significant effect on employee retention. This study provides recommendations for improving career development and compensation systems to increase employee loyalty and reduce turnover rates.
