Plagiarism Policy of LAMADJIDO MANAGEMENT & BUSINESS JOURNAL (LAMBI)

LAMADJIDO MANAGEMENT & BUSINESS JOURNAL (LAMBI) is committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and academic honesty. Therefore, plagiarism in any form is unacceptable and will be dealt with severely. The following outlines our policy regarding plagiarism:

Definition of Plagiarism

Plagiarism includes, but is not limited to:

  • Direct Plagiarism: The verbatim copying of an entire portion of text from another source without acknowledgment and without quotation marks.
  • Self-Plagiarism: The reuse of significant, identical, or nearly identical portions of one's own copyrighted work without citing the original source.
  • Paraphrasing: Changing a few words and phrases while mostly retaining the structure and information of the original source and not citing it.
  • Inaccurate Authorship: Failing to accurately credit other contributors or co-authors to the research.

Detection of Plagiarism

To detect plagiarism, LAMBI employs a combination of the following methods:

  • Editorial Review: Initial screening by the editor for signs of plagiarized content.
  • Plagiarism Detection Software: Use of advanced plagiarism detection tools to check the originality of submissions against extensive databases of published and unpublished materials.

Consequences of Plagiarism

If plagiarism is identified, the consequences will depend on the severity and nature of the violation:

  • Minor Offenses: May require the author(s) to rewrite content, provide proper citations, and issue a formal apology to the original authors.
  • Major Offenses: Can lead to rejection of the manuscript, blacklisting of the author(s) from submitting to LAMBI, and notification of the misconduct to the author’s institutions or relevant authorities.

Handling Plagiarism Complaints

In cases where plagiarism is reported to or identified by the journal editors after publication, LAMBI will conduct a thorough investigation into the claim. If plagiarism is confirmed, the journal will take appropriate actions which may include:

  • Retraction of the Published Article: Formal retraction of the paper from the journal and databases.
  • Correction or Retraction Notices: Publication of a formal notice detailing the nature of the plagiarism and actions taken.

Responsibilities of Authors

Authors are expected to:

  • Ensure that they have written entirely original works.
  • Cite or quote any and all locations where others' ideas, words, or theories have been used.
  • Use quotation marks or formatting to denote all direct quotations from others' work.
  • Not submit the same material to more than one journal.
